UNX-301: Solaris System Administration II
Overview:
This five-day course focuses on providing students advanced skills and knowledge to administer the Solaris Operating System.
Prerequisites:
Prior to attending this class, students should have the following experience:
- Completion of the Introduction to UNIX course or equivalent experience
- Completion of the Solaris System Administration I course or equivalent experience
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
- administer networking software on Solaris machines including DNS, LDAP and NIS.
- configure JumpStart to create automated installation processes.
- administer network devices.
- Perform virtual disk management and administer RAID.
- Perform advanced configuration of NFS , automount and CacheFS file systems.
- Create and maintain Bourne Shell scripts.
- monitor and improve system performance.
