UNX-201: Solaris System Administration I
Overview:
This five-day course focuses on providing students the skills and knowledge to administer the Solaris Operating System. Students will learn how to administer Solaris as either a stand-alone or a networked machine.
Prerequisites:
Prior to attending this class, students should have the following experience:
- Completion of the Introduction to UNIX course or equivalent experience
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
- Discuss basic System Administration concepts.
- Install Solaris, additional software and patches.
- administer user and group accounts including initialization files.
- Create and access local and network file systems.
- Control system and user processes.
- Create shell scripts to automate tasks.
- backup and restore file systems.
- setup and administer network access.
- setup and administer printers.
